Comparison of over the counter products vs professional treatment for lice and nits
This is a coffee maker. My coffee maker. On my counter at home. I use it every morning to make coffee. It has worked just fine since the day I purchased it.
If this coffee maker did not work, I would have marched it right back to the store where I purchased it.
Why is it that every single day, customers call me and say that the products they bought at the drug store have not worked to kills the bugs in their kids’ hair? Why is it that people do not return these products to the store for a full refund?
It’s time we treated lice shampoos like coffee makers! If they don’t work, take them back! Stop the sale of pesticides that are a) nasty for kids heads, b) harmful to the environment, and c) downright ineffective.
Make American pharmacies and drug stores accountable for the products they sell.
Let them know that head lice have been scientifically proven to be resistant (immune) to the ingredient permethrin (or pymethrin), the very ingredient in most over-the-counter top-selling brands. Proof? See the Journal of Medical Entomology study published in July 2016.
And then use a professional grade comb or seek out a Lice Clinics of America to get rid of lice once and for all.
And enjoy your coffee. 🙂
